Vol. 2 No. 2 (2020): Special Issue: Discourses on COVID-19
The papers in this special edition could be described as providing a pan-Nigerian
perspective to the global discourses on COVID-19 in terms of data and theoretic
dissection. The efforts undoubtedly provide some pathways to the scholastic
understanding, from a broad linguistic perspective, of the evolving territory of the
discourses on COVID-19. This suggests that many more perspectives and
possibilities exist for the understanding of researchers and scholars of discourse
analysis, pragmatics and applied linguistics. When these other perspectives more
fully emerge, some of the limitations and challenges of reference materials on the
subject matter will be reasonably surmounted and a more rounded understanding of
the contagion will evolve.
